mav·er·ick - 2 : an independent individual who does not go along with a group or party

Our little Maverick. I just had to take a moment to say how proud I am of him. Last night was a major milestone. We have been working with him (probably every other night) with treats and telling him sit and lay down. Well...he usually won't lay down without a treat to follow on the way down and last night....*drum roll please* HE DID IT!

I wanted to cry I was so happy. I really thought for awhile this dog is untrainable. He's had some rough times and there are others who despise him but he's our little puppy and he's a cutie. We have the trainer coming over again this weekand to work on some issues but with our love and affection we feel he can be helped and saved! If we didn't take him he would have been put down for sure and if we were to give him back...they would put him down immediately. He is too cute for that. He deserves a loving home!
