Ice cream ice cream, we all scream for ice cream!

We had an "Ice Cream Social" at work yesterday and a very happy customer of ours took this picture below.

These are wonderful people. On the left is George who has 37 years in and served in Vietnam. Me (I only have 4 years). Pam, my boss (who has 25 years in). She's great. She loves to look out for me. Renee, our newest administrative assistant (who also has 25 years in). She is a ball of energy and fun. She put a picture of Mikey D. up on her desk :). And there's Dotti who has 40 years in and will be retiring later this year. She's very sweet and has a big family. Pam's boss (really our office boss) resides in another building. He's awesome too. He's about early 40's and is so overwhelmed he can't enjoy things like this. Poor guy.

I love this crew. Renee got mad at me when I told her I want to go into nursing. She said she was mad because she doesn't want me to leave. Pam sort of gave me a cold shoulder when I asked for her to pay for my training but I know its because she doesn't want me to even consider leaving either.

About the nursing thing...I started filling out the application to submit for the program and it didn't have a place for me to say I wanted nights and weekends and not days; so I called them and they said...um no, there aren't any nights and weekends courses. I started to whine. I said I was told at the information session they would start nights and weekends soon. She said no. I confirmed it with another lady in the program as well. She even said they're not even considering in the future at this time.

I went back to the drawing board and found that Howard Community College has a nights and weekends program. It's a drive but its something I really want to do. I'm so frustrated with MC right now. It's really disappointing. But as Greg says, if it's something I want, I'll get it.

Things always work out eventually right?
