Goals and frogs

So, new goal!!!

Well, first small goal is to get to 215 but this is my first big goal!!

I will cry when I get below that 200 mark. I haven't been there in years and I know I'm going to. Don't ask why, I just know!

Exercise goal: 30 mins 7 days a week

Proud

I am definitely proud of myself with my choices. Subway for instance...I got a sandwich and instead of asking for it plain, like I usually do, I asked them to add lettuce, cucumbers and green peppers.....two different times.

Also, we went to Ruby Tuesdays today and instead of 2 mini burgers with fries and a salad bar I had them change the burgers to Turkey burgers, ate it with only one of the buns instead of both, and asked for green beans instead of fries.

We're still not eating out anywhere near as much and we're trying to chose better. I do understand that the way things are cooked at restaurants are loaded in oils and butters to taste better but the start is to chose better if we do eat out.

Just some pluses for the day.

Work and car shit suck but other than that I can still wear a smile and pat myself on the back for the heath change. :)

The word health has been in every sentence I speak lately

I'm just trying to get myself in check while I'm young thats all. I look at other family members and am going in the same path as them if I continue to eat the way I did and not exercise.

So yeah...its been on my mind.

But yesterday we restocked on good food only and I did a huge spring cleaning in my pantry. Tonight the fridge gets it. If there aren't bad choices in our house then we won't eat bad things.

You're in need of a snack while watching a movie and craving something chocolate...what do you do..you go scrounging for food, open the fridge, open the pantry...all there is is wheat crackers, fruit, carrots, or celery, maybe a sugar free, low fat pudding...you have no choice but to grab one of those items because the fattening chocolate just ain't there. Hah! Tricked ya!

Thats the idea.

Not much else going on right now other than this. I'm a government employee in purchasing and the end of the Fiscal Year is here. That means, stress, overtime, and crazy people. But it goes by fast.

Thats it. I have nothing else to talk about :)

Number still the same

So yeah....its frustrating. I did a complete 180 in my eating and nothing changes on the scale. Bummer....I get frustrated easily though. I walked for a half an hour yesterday with my two overweight puppies. They are so cute. Emmi walked around the lake all happy the first time around then by the second she was slowing down. Instead of pulling on the leash to get ahead, she walked right by my side dragging her little feet. I dropped the leash and she stayed there. She's so cute. There were geese in the water and we use to play this game with Mikey where we would run with him on the leash so he could at least pretend to chase them. We've done that with Emmi too and she loves it. Even when she was tired yesterday her ears went up and she was ready to charge so I ran with her for a bit.

She couldn't wait to lay down next to that bowl of water when we got home. We're working on it together.

Maverick, on the other hand, could have kept going and going. He slowed down a bit too but was ready for more.

We're going to try to exercise 4-5 days a week with them. They need it too.

The exercising should help that number decrease. I hope.

New Day

Well my eating was a success again yesterday (in my book)

Slim fast shake for breakfast
Oatmeal (mid morning snack/lunch time main course)
handfull of carrots
handfull of grapes
~8 animal crackers
1 pack of sugar free wafer cookies
Steak caesar salad
1 roll
iced tea with sweet and low
36oz of water
2 sugar free puddings
1 slice of cheese

Ok...going by a food pyramid chart I have, here is what I should be eating for a well balanced diet and here is what I ate yesterday:

Sweets
up to 75 cals (I had about 250)

Protein/Dairy
4 servings (I had about 3)

Fruit
4 servings (I had 1)

Carbs
5 servings (I had 3)

Veggies
4 servings (I had 2)

Fats
3 servings (I had 1)

So obviously I need to work on this but it also has to do with what foods I have available at home and what I'll need to get at the store. It also depends on what I like to eat and what I can cook up.

It's going...

Today's weight 224 (I need to snack on more veggies than sweets obviously)

Let's try this eating good thing shale we?

Well, I'm starting a new leaf and eating better. Yesterday my food consisted of:

Slim fast shake
2 small egg salad sandwhiches on rolls
1 Pudding (sugar free)
1 chicken breast
1 cup mixed veggies (corn, green beans, carrots)
crackers and herb cheese dip
~25oz of water

My goal is to mainly get a more well-rounded menu while trying to lose weight at the same time. It's a start...

Today I had a slim fast shake for breakfast and will have a Weight Control Oatmeal around 11ish.

I brought carrots and grapes to snack on, a pudding, and animal crackers to snack on throughout the day and dinner will be something along the lines of a grilled chicken breast marinated in a barbeque mix with mixed veggies (also marinated for flavor). I bought yellow, red, and green bell peppers also, I may grill some of those too. I bought some low cal, 0 sugar crystal light things to put in my water to make me drink more water. So far I'm already down 15oz of water and its only 9:30, so maybe I'll get a good amount in for the day.

I need more menu ideas. I may have to actually pick up and look at some of the cookbooks I have in the cabinet :). This cooking thing can actually be fun.
